Camping vs Motel vs Any other options...
I'm coming over from NZ. Is there anywhere to buy a cheap tent and airbed or something in Joshua Tree or around there so I can just stay on site? Would only have it for these few days and then throw it or give it away before I fly home. Or is it easy enough to get from venue to some accom. each night in Joshua Tree or Twentynine Palms after the show (Uber or taxi etc.).

There are a few places in Joshua Tree to get a tent etc. your best bet is to book a spot at the campground. Its attached to the festival grounds and you can just walk to the event. Its a 2 min walk.

There is lots to see and do. Check out some of the posts on mojave_experience_festival on IG. On it ive posted about places to see. The national park has lots of cool places to check out, skull rock, keys view, keys ranch, jumbo rock. Get a tour guide and check out old mines and stuff. There is downtown JT with lots of cool
Shops and a farmers market on Saturday. You can stargaze at Sky’s the limit in 29 Palms….
